unpopular opinion
it must exhaust you to be so hypersensitive to anything and everything that isn’t 100% sensitive and aware of your world view. tumblr is exhausting. I am a cis, white female. no I won’t “check my privilege at the door” - I am sorry that you are unable to comprehend that the world isn’t built to be gentle to your needs and personal ideals - if you are confident in who you are and what you believe in, you wouldn’t constantly attack and “correct” those around you who disagree or are just not willing to accommodate everything they do or say to be hyper vigilant to your worldview. welcome to the world where all people defend their own opinions regardless of yours - shocked? do I believe in equality, fairness and empathy? yes I do. but I also think you need to shut the fuck up and relax a little because if you are constantly aware of everything around you which might be “ignorant” then you are in for an uphill battle. awareness is important. acceptance is important - society needs to do more than just “tolerate and accept” - I agree and couldn’t agree more. but telling someone who isn’t enlightened to your personal strife to “go die” or that their life experience is somehow less than yours - that is just as wrong. I am proud to be who I am and if that is considered “part of the problem” I don’t care because I have just as much of a right to respect and self-love as anyone else does. I will not apologize for who I am because it isn’t “other” - enough is enough.
